Service providers have significantly underinvested in the edge. Take Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) as an example. The standard deployment architecture is shown in the diagram below. It is built on the Metro Ethernet architecture, where various network segments are stitched together on Layer 2 networks to provide Internet access for customers.

The Bumblebee Intelligent Edge is purpose-built to serve the telecom industry. It supports both types of service providers. The only difference in deployment is whether VLAN tags are applied to the service provider-facing WAN interface. Full visibility, troubleshooting tools, advanced service features, and cellular integration are available in either deployment scenario.

In the Bumblebee DIA architecture, data path is unchanged from the existing architecture. What is removed is the entire management network.
