Which product code supports Cellular WAN?

BN-CPE-1000C and BN-CPE-1000FC. Customer sites with these types of Bumblebee CPEs installed is Cellular WAN enabled.

Does Cellular WAN need SIM card?

yes, there is a SIM slot/interface on the Bumblebee CPE and you need to insert a micro SIM card into the device. Work with service provider or carrier to activate a SIM card.

What carriers do Cellular WAN support?

Global ( AT&T (FirstNet), Verizon, T-Mobile, Southern LINC, NTT Docomo, Anterix; Planned Carrier: Orange, Telstra)

What is Cellular WAN's Air Interface specification?

4G LTE Advanced Pro Cat-12 with 3G fallback.

The DL (Download) speed is 603Mbps. The UL (Upload) speed is 102Mbps

How does Cellular WAN work?

Once an activated SIM card is detected being inserted, Bumblebee CPE automatically detects it and complete the initialization process. When primary WAN is down, CPE automatically switches to use Cellular WAN interface to forward traffic.

Can Cellular WAN be used for OOB only?

Yes, you turn turn off data forwarding for Cellular WAN. When data forwarding is turned off, Cellular WAN is only used for OOB Remote PDU Management and OOB Remote Serial Console Access.

Does Cellular WAN work with Secondary WAN?

Yes. The CPE can be configured such that when primary WAN goes down, CPE switches to Secondary WAN for data forwarding, and when the Secondary WAN also fails, the CPE switches to Cellular WAN to forward traffic, as shown in the diagram below.

Can Cellular WAN support 5G?

While we belive the current Cat 12 LTE Advanced Pro is a perfect option for a failover solution as it offers good throughput and is avaiable everywhere, the Bumblebee CPEs are capable of supporting 5G modems. Please email to support@bumblebeenet.com to request.
