Release 25 (November 21, 2025)
Application Category Analysis
Bumblebee uses AI to classify applications observed in traffic flowing from LAN to WAN into eight categories:
Business Critical Apps
Observability and Monitoring Apps
Entertainment Apps
Social Media Apps
Personal Cloud and Social Sharing Apps
Cyber Security Apps
Miscellaneous Apps
Unknown Apps
Unknown Apps are those that have not yet been classified by the AI at the time they are displayed.
Classification results are shown in two views in the Application Visibility Dashboard page:
App Category Bandwidth – A pie chart showing bandwidth share by category
Top 5 Apps by Bandwidth – A bar chart showing the top 5 applications within the selected category
Link-Down Relay
This feature forces the LAN port to shut down when the WAN connection goes down. Its purpose is to trigger a firewall or SD-WAN router to activate its backup Internet link. To enable this feature on a specific CPE, go to: Internet NIDs → Actions → Edit Link-Down Relay.
Link-Down Event Notification
This feature allows you to add additional email addresses specifically for Link-Down events. Its purpose is to support ticketing systems such as Zendesk, where only Link-Down events are forwarded to create new tickets. To configure, go to: Operations → Link-Down Events, and enter one or more email addresses separated by commas.
Release 24 (October 17, 2025)
Application Visibility Dashboard
This is a new dashboard that provides visibility and analytics of all applications traffic passing through a Bumblebee device. You may be surprised to learn that a site's most frequently used application is DNS query and the most data intensive application is Zoom or Teams. To learn more, refer to Application Visibility Dashboard.
Support Center
The Support Center allows customers to open, manage, and resolve support tickets directly on the Bumblebee platform. It centralizes all support tickets and correspondence in one place. To create a support ticket, click 'Support' in the main navigation menu, then select 'Create Ticket.' For more details, refer to the Support Center FAQ.
Metro VLAN
Bumblebee Metro devices now support multiple NNI ports and allow VLAN tagging and Q-in-Q tagging being swapped between LAN and WAN ports.
Shipment Tracking
The Shipment Tracking feature allows customers to track a device's shipment status without out-of-band communication via email. When the Bumblebee team ships a device, an email update with the tracking ID is sent to the customer.
Maintenance Announcement
The Maintenance Announcement feature enables providers to announce and track scheduled downtime on the Bumblebee platform. Announcements are delivered via email alerts to relevant parties. Scheduled maintenance downtime is not counted toward uptime metrics. To schedule an announcement, select a site, go to Actions -> Announcement
One IAM User for Multiple Accounts and Entities
There are situations where the same IAM user (i.e., the same email address) is associated with different accounts and entities. For example, an agent representing two customers, each contracting with a different service provider for their internet connectivity, may encounter this. The two service providers have separate accounts on the Bumblebee platform, but both may create the same IAM user entity for the agent to access. When the agent logs in to the Bumblebee platform with their password, they are prompted to select one of the two accounts. This feature allows the agent to use a single password instead of remembering multiple ones. The feature is seamless for users.

Speed tests with Bumblebee Networks
Bumblebee Networks Activation Test feature allows customers to measure WAN link speed via RFC 2544 test method. In this release, we have expanded the speed test capabilities to include commercial sites such as fast.com and Ookla Speedtest. With a click of button on the Bumblebee platform, you can measure WAN link speed from the Bumblebee CPE to these commercial sites.
In addition, you can use Bumblebee CPE as a speed test target to measure your internal network performance from a browser anywhere as long as it can reach the Bumblebee CPE -- all you need is a host machine and browser.
These expanded capabilities help enterprise customers to segment network performance and determine network performance bottleneck. To learn how to run these speed tests, refer to the Speed Tests with Bumblebee Networks document.
Post-mortem outage analysis
Bumblebee platform alerts WAN outages, does network fault mapping in the alert message and saves the event for long term storage. In this release we have added the post-mortem analysis report on the outage that automatically records the reasons for the outage. For more details on how to view the analysis, refer to Post-mortem Outage Analysis document.
Interface status and speed
You can now view Bumblebee CPE interface connecting status and negotiated speed. To view, select a NID, scroll down to the second half of the screen. Click Details -> Interfaces.
List Devices and Vendors on connected subnets
When you run "Get Diagnostics" action on a specific Bumblebee CPE, all connected network devices on its WAN and LAN side are listed along with the vendor names. To view this, follow the steps below:
Login to the Bumblebee platform
Click Internet NIDs
Select one NID, click Actions -> Get Diagnostics
Scroll down to sections Hosts on LAN and Hosts on WAN. )Note if a connected host is a VM, there may not be identifier for them.)
Recovery from a failed token
When a Bumblebee device is created a security token is generated and is embedded in the device. This token is used during the device registration phase with the platform. In a rare scenario where the registration fails, a new token can be applied to the device to facilitate the registration process again. For more details on how recover, refer to Recovery from a failed token document.
